| I just recently found these out from some of my students in the last week:
1 student who's parents left him here in Irvine while his parents went back to Korea because he got involved with drugs. He's now living with his pastor with no contact with his parents. 1 student who got kicked out of his house by his dad otherwise his dad would walk out on the family. 1 student who's dad called the cops on him in 2003 and said he was making a bomb. The dad hates him and is doing everything to get him arrested so he doesn't have to support him. He's now being kicked out since he's 18 years old. 2 students who's parents ran out on them because of drugs. They now live with their grandma and the oldest sibling is holding 3 jobs to help support herself and pay for her sister's stuff so her sister can live a decent life. 1 student who's parents divorce caused him to close himself off from everyone and is now in therapy. 1 student who was homeless for a year and grew up way too fast.
I didn't realize how much of an emotional toll it'd take on me to hear these things happening to my students.

| "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." - 2 Corinthians 4:4
Satan blinded the mind of all non-believers in this world. His job is to distract us from the glory of Jesus Christ in any way possible. His job is not to get people to do "bad" things. If he did and succeeded in making people do "bad" things, then people would recognize they need a savior. Instead, he might make us lose our focus off of Christ by having us do "good" things. When we do "good" things from our own effort, then our human pride and arrogance would get in the way of recognizing God's work and the glory of Christ.

| God telling us 'no' could be just as much of a blessing as God telling us 'yes.' I think this new found revelation opens up a whole new door of possibilities...

| I've finally come to terms with my stay at UCLA. People know that I had a miserable time at UCLA... I was so destroyed physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually when I left. Since last week though, I'm finding myself being so thankful that I had a chance to go. Each passing day, I'm more and more joyful and thankful that I went to UCLA and experienced all the crap that I did... I think I finally accept that I wouldn't be where I'm at had I not gone through it all.

| So turns out my job isn't as secure as I thought it would be. Northwood High School has too many teachers because students/families are moving out of the area because of foreclosures so the teachers will be moved from that high school to the other 3 high schools. We'll see what happens.... I get the feeling that I won't know for a long time but pray for me. I wasn't worried about my job next year until now... It's not looking pretty with all the changes they're making to the different classes.
